FISIP Once Again Continues the Struggle of the late Soetandyo Wignjosoebroto through Soetandyo Award and Scholarships

Surabaya - Public Relations | Still in the festivity of the 40th Anniversary, FISIP UNAIR again holds the prestigious Soetandyo Award and Scholarships awards ceremony on Thursday (7/12). Located at Soetandyo Hall Building C FISIP UNAIR, the event started at 09.00 am and was attended by participants who passed the selection stage of Soetandyo Award and Scholarships, namely academics, students, and lecturers of FISIP.

Soetandyo Award and Scholarships is an event held to appreciate the spirit of struggle in the field of human rights, education, pluralism, nationalism, anti-poverty, and civil society of the late Soetandyo Wignjosoebroto as one of the founders and the first Dean of FISIP UNAIR. Inspired by him, through the Soetandyo Scholarships event, FISIP UNAIR embodies this with the provision of educational scholarships to fifteen S1 & S2 students who are preparing a thesis or thesis with themes that have been voiced out by the late Soetandyo Wignjosoebroto. On the other hand, Soetandyo Award event is an award for intellectuals and human rights activists who have contributed to the wider community.

In the selection phase of Soetandyo Award & Scholarship, 15 theses that were selected came from Airlangga University, Gadjah Mada University, Hasanuddin University, University of Indonesia, Riau University, Lampung University, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, Padjajaran University, University of Trunojoyo, and Bandung Institute of Social Welfare.

While the Soetandyo Award this time was given directly by the Dean of FISIP UNAIR, Dr. Falih Suaedi to Esthi Susanti Hudiono as female activist and General Secretary of AIDS Indonesia community (YUL / CAY).
