Surabaya – Public Relations | The Information and Public Relations Coordinator Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (KIH FISIP) UNAIR held an website management training for web teams throughout the undergraduate, master, and doctoral FISIP departments. The training was held in Adi Sukadana room on Wednesday (27/9). The event started at 09.30 WIB was opened by the Dean of FISIP UNAIR, Dr. Falih Suaedi, M.Si. In his speech, he hoped that this activity could optimize the contribution of FISIP’s departments in improving the quality of providing information for the wider community.
After the opening of the event, the first agenda was listening to the discussion and questions about obstacles faced by the team managing the department website so far. Attended by dozens of web team members from various study programs at FISIP, the hearing went intensely with the emergence of various questions and technical barriers that were raised. In this training, KIH FISIP presented speakers and technicians from the Directorate of Information Systems (DSI), the Agency For Finance and Development (BPP), and the UNAIR Information and Public Relations Center (PIH).
M. Nasrul Azis, S. Kom from DSI gave a technical explanation of how the system admin works and how to complete the page content of a department website. The importance of aligning the theme and the number of pages on the web with the university web becomes the main focus. Next, Iqbal Rhabbani form BPP provided material on the university’s strategy to improve the quality of their agency in website management and how each department can contribute to this improvement. A web ranking agency in the world, namely Webometrics became the attention and benchmark for the current Rectorate. The current exposure of the department website’s rankings and the various good steps taken for improvement is discussed at the session of the BPP this time.
PIH sent two representatives, namely Jokhanan Kristiyono, St., M.Med.Kom and Rio F. Rachman, S.S, M.Med.Kom. to provide material on how to package web content appropriately, especially to present innovative and up-to-date content. How to be a true journalist and how to take interesting pictures described in detail. Then for innovation, many inputs were given from presentation of infographic-based data to the presentation of compelling video content and readily accessible to readers.
This training is conducted in order to improve the quality of websites across agencies and departments in University Airlangga in order to achieve World Class University. After this training, FISIP will conduct a competition for the managers of the department websites to see how far the participants can apply the material that has been delivered. (ZK/CAY/NZZ)
